The Sac City Panthers Football team forced four turnovers and won a hard-fought defensive struggle 20-16 over Diablo Valley to earn the State Center Bowl championship on Nov. 19 at Hughes Stadium.
Sac City closed out the season with with a record of 6-5. The defense was led by So DL (#99) Josh Johnson who finished with 12 tackles (8 solo) with 2 sacks which earned him MVP honors for the game. Other standouts on defense were So DL (#23) Sai Taamu with 6 tackles (3 solo), 2 sacks, and a fumble recovery. So LB (#22) Cameron Calderhad 7 tackles (3 solos) with 1 sack and 1 forced fumble in the game. So DB (#25) Elijah Jones had 3 tackles with 1 interception. The Panthers defense had six sacks on the day, forced 2 fumbles and had 1 interception.
On offense, Sac City had multiple players rush for 40 yards or better led by So RB (#4) Braylon White 10 carries for 48 yards with 2 touchdowns. Fr (#7) (WR/RB) Jordan Moore had 9 carries for 52 yards and So RB (#2) Tyree Hanson finished with 15 rushes for 42 yards. So WR (#5) Keylan Mack led the team with 5 receptions for 56 yards and 1 touchdown. Fr TE (#87) Ryan Bant-Cogburn had 1 big catch for 39 yards in the game. Fr QB (#11) Justin Yeaton went 13-30 for 107 yards with 1 touchdown pass.
