With a trip to the state tournament on the line, the Sac City Panthers women’s volleyball team forced a fifth and deciding game with Sierra College before falling 15-9 in the decisive set to end their season. Sierra won 31-29, 18-25, 21-25, 25-19,15-9) on Nov. 26 in the second round of the CCCAA Nor-Cal Regional Playoffs.
The No. 6 Panthers finished a great season with a 22-4 overall record. The Panthers got strong performances from So OH (#10) Keeley Franz who had 20 digs, 14 kills with 2 blocks and 66 total attacks. So OH (#4) Sam Kepler had 18 kills with 14 digs and 47 total attacks. So OH (#2) AJ Woo finished with 13 kills, 10 digs and 44 total attacks. So S (#5) Kassidy Rauh led team with 50 assists, 12 digs, 3 kills, and 3 blocks with 15 total attacks. Fr MH (#9) Jalyn Jones had 6 kills with 22 total attacks. So LB (#3) Halee Parnell led the team with 28 digs.
Congratulations to the Sac City volleyball team and its coaching staff on their many achievements earned this season! Sac City sophmores OH (#10) Keeley Franz and So S (#5) Kassidy Rauh earned 1st team All-Conference selections in the Big 8 this season. So OH (#4) Sam Kepler earned a second team All-Conference selection in the Big 8 as well. City So OH (#10) Keeley Franz was also named an All Northern California selection. Coach Laurie Nash surpassed 300 career wins this season.
