Sacramento Police officer Beth Glynn is being hailed as a hero for helping provide CPR and reviving a young man shot in Oak Park over the Memorial Day holidays last May.

Beth is Sac City alumna, who played softball on the 1992 State Championship team under coach Tim Kiernan. Her maiden name was Beth Gerkwen.

According to KOVR Channel 13, Beth was the first of three officers to find Marcellis Caldwell on the ground with bullet wounds to his head and spine. She began CPR immediately until a pulse returned. Marcellis was transported to UC Davis Medical Center for extensive surgeries and physical therapy.

Beth has continued to stay in touch with Marcellis and his family.
