The Sac City Panthers beat Sierra College 21-20 in overtime Saturday to claim victory in the Centennial Football Game, held at the end of a very productive day in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sacramento City College.
After the teams finished regulation tied 14-14, Tyree Hanson scored on a 4-yard run, and Elijah Siemering kicked the extra point for a 21-14 lead. The extra point proved to be the game winner, as Sierra also scored a touchdown during their overtime possession, but failed on the extra point attempt.
Hanson finished with 213 yards rushing on 39 attempts during the driving rain storm.
Congratulations Panthers, who improved to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.
