The Sac City Panthers baseball team beat American River 5-0 on Saturday in Big 8 play after a two-out rally in the eighth inning of a scoreless game.
The Panthers (23-8 overall, 11-5 in Big 8 play), scored all five runs on only one hit after two were down in the 8th. The Panthers strung together three walks, two hit batsmen, a passed ball and a single in the rally. It helped them win their second consecutive conference game.
According to the April 6 CCCAA coaches poll, Sac City is ranked No. 2 in Northern California behind Santa Rosa.
